Dainichi Brand Mascot Character
A Delicious Pilgrimage
Shikoku, Japan's 4th largest island, is famous for its pilgrimage route of 88 temples. This pilgrimage is said to have started over 1000 years ago with Kobu Daishi, the founder of Japanese Shingon Buddhism, who found enlightenment during his wandering through Shikoku. This pilgrimage is currently being applied for as a world heritage. Many people have protected its deep green mountains as hallowed ground and this has made the surrounding seas fertile. Our project began using carefully raised fish from this fertile sea as our the chief production center. We at Dainichi care for our fish as the pilgrims their temples. YA-TO-YA is not only associated with Shikoku's 88 temples, but is a brand developed hand in hand with the earnest farmers in the fertile sea surrounding Shikoku island and Dainichi's experience and know-how as a feed manufacturer.

ORGINALLY FROM DEEP WATERS
In the wild, sea bream normally inhabit waters with a depth of 40-50m. The deep quiet waters where the sun's ultraviolet rays do not penetrate are excellent for sea bream. We established farming technology that allows us to grow these fish at a water depth of wild sea bream. These superior fish are marketed as "deep sea farmed sea bream" and have a brilliant color and a wonderful firm flesh texture not easily found.
1) Reduced melanin generation by ultraviolet rays - brilliant red color!
2) Increased water pressure results in firmer flesh quality!
3) Sea Bream are healthier and less stressed!
